18 doctors recovered from COVID-19 in Bangladesh

A total of 18 doctors have recovered from Covid-19 so far in the country, according to Bangladesh Doctors’ Foundation.

The number of total infected doctors stands at 540 as on Saturday (2), according to BDF.

Of them, 387 are from hospitals in Dhaka division while 57 are from Mymensingh, BDF sources added.

Fourteen are from hospitals in Chattogram, 29 from Khulna, 10 from Barishal, six in Sylhet and seven are from Rangpur.

The rest are from different specialised hospitals. Earlier, the foundation alleged that not enough protection was provided for healthcare workers in the country.

The country has now over 8,000 COVID-19 patients and the deadly virus has claimed 175 lives so far.

In order to slow the spread of the virus the country now planning to extend the ongoing shutdown till May 15.
