Total Covid-19 infections in Bangladesh cross 300,000 mark

THE total number of people infected with Covid-19 in Bangladesh so far has reached 302,147, with 2,519 new infections recorded in last 24 hours.

According to a statement issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), 54 died and 3,427 patients recovered in a day.

The current positivity rate is 16.72 per cent, while the total positivity rate stands at 20.34 per cent.

The total number of deaths due to the deadly infection in the country stand at 4,082, showed official figures. The death rate now stands at 1.35 percent.

A total of 15,070 samples were tested across the country in the last 24 hours. The total number of recoveries stands at 1,90,183, and the recovery rate at 62.94 percent.

Six hundred and fifty-three people were put under isolation in the last 24 hours, the statement further said.

Among the deceased, 39 were male and 15 were female, while three were aged between 31-40, eight between 41-50, 14 within 51-60 and 29 were above 60 years old.
