A letter containing the directives — singed by IEDCR Director Prof Meerjady Sabrina Flora — has been sent to all civil surgeons and upazila health and family planning officers across the country.
The directives are:
–Collect sample from those who have at least one or two of the symptoms — fever, cold, cough, sore throat and difficulties in breathing.
— Include name, age, gender, detailed address, mobile number and symptoms with the “Covid-19 Suspected Case Record and Laboratory Test Request” form.
— Samples should be collected, stored and sent to specific laboratories in a proper manner.
— The tube containing the preserved sample must be labelled accurately and clearly.
