WHEN Bollywood singer Kanika Kapoor was tested positive for COVID-19 on Friday (20), it sent panic waves among Indian parliamentarians.
At the latest count, four Indian politicians are already under self-isolation.
Reports state that the number may go up and even the president of India likely to be quarantined.
The reason is simple, parliamentarian Dushyant Singh and his mother former Rajasthan chief minister Vasundhara Raje came into contact with Kanika Kapoor.
Afterwards, Dushyant Singh attended parliament. He was also part of a delegation which met Indian president Ramnath Kovind the other day.
Raje and Dushyant Singh had attended the dinner in Lucknow, where singer Kanika Kapoor was also present.
Vasundhara Raje on Friday (20) confirmed that she and her MP son Dushyant Singh are in self-quarantine.
“While in Lucknow, I attended a dinner with my son Dushyant & his in-laws. Kanika, who has unfortunately tested positive for Covid-19 was also a guest. As a matter of abundant caution, my son & I have immediately self-quarantined and we’re taking all necessary precautions,” Raje wrote on Twitter.
