BAPS India’s charity work helps millions during lockdown
BAPS India is actively involved in charity work through 1,000 sadhus and 5,000 volunteers in major locations across the country.
Under the guidance and inspiration of Brahmaswarup Pramukh Swami Maharaj and Guruhari Mahant Swami Maharaj, BAPS responded to government requests for assistance to care for the needy.
In the first 21 days of the lockdown, as many as 47,83,885 meals were provided by the organisation. Besides, food grains for 28,39,370 meals and fresh vegetables for 17,27,197 meals were supplied.
BAPS India reached out electronically to over three individuals for spiritual and emotional counselling.
It donated Rs 72,00,000 to prime minister and chief minister relief funds.
As on April 15, provisions for 16,12,800 additional meals were given by the government and packed by BAPS volunteers. It also donated 30,300 masks and 5,050 sanitizers.
The organisation continues to distribute food and essentials like masks and sanitizers across the country.
BAPS centres in the UK and the US have also assisted local authorities as required.
