By: PramodKumar

International Monetary Fund (IMF) has said that the economic growth of Bangladesh will be just  2 per cent for 2020, mainly due to COVID-19 pandemic.

Earlier, the World Bank also predicted low economic growth for the country.

However, the World Economic Outlook of IMF said that next year the country would grow 9.5 per cent.

IMF has reversed the projection from seven per cent earlier.

Currently, Bangladesh has 1,231 COVID-19 patients with 50 deaths.

The World Bank a few days ago projected that the economic growth of Bangladesh might turn out to be only 2-3 percent this fiscal year due to the outbreak of coronavirus.
