A video has been doing the rounds on social media for a couple of days now where actor Aditya Roy Kapur is seen exiting a theatre after the screening of his new show The Night Manager and suddenly being surrounded by some female fans who first take selfies with him and then tried to kiss him forcefully, making the actor visibly uncomfortable. However, Kapur managed to handle the situation well.
In an interview with Indian Express, the actor has opened up about the incident. “It was just something I had to handle in the moment,” Kapur said. “She was strong. Let’s put it like that. So, I did have to handle it.”
The actor further added, “But I can understand it. I don’t look at it from the eye where I’ll criticise it or say it’s wrong. I can understand it that this person is feeling this affection and I guess that’s how she wanted to express it. At that moment, I just felt it needed to be handled. But I didn’t lose any sleep over it or give it more (thought) than it needed.”
Talking about the terrific response that he has been receiving for his debut streaming show The Night Manager, Kapur said, “It feels good. We have put in a lot of work on this one and have really believed in this project. We were all very optimistic about it, kind of getting a good response provided we did all of our work. We all felt like this has a lot of potential to connect with people. So, I’m really happy that people are enjoying it, connecting with it, and having fun.”
